| The new engine for the VW Polo is a three cylinder 1.2 TDI producing 75 bhp with 180 Nm of torque from 1800 revs. This engine is fitted with a particulate filter. It consumes just 3.8 litres of diesel per 100 km, with CO2 emissions of 99 grams per km. It replaces the four cylinder 1.6 TDI 75 bhp, although the 90 bhp version of this remains available, with the addition of ESP and hill-start assist.
Offered in the first instance in the VW Polo, the 1.2 TDI will later be available in other VAG group models.
