 The 2.5 D-4D engine of the Toyota Hilux benefits from a genuinely useful refurbishment. By adopting a variable geometry turbo and optimising the injectors, this engine now develops 144 bhp and 343 Nm. This is 24 bhp and 18 Nm more than the previous generation. The improvement is evident in performance terms. The Hilux 2.5 D-4D can now reach a top speed of 170 km/h (against 155 km/h before), gets from 0 to 100 km/h in 12.5 seconds and emits 219 g of CO2/km. it should be pointed out that this engine will be available with all three Hilux cab versions: Single, Extra and Double. |
