The re-worked version of the 3-cylinder engine of the smart fortwo develops 54 bhp and 130 Nm. This is 9 bhp and 20 Nm better than the one we have been used to up to now. This additional 21% of power and 18% of torque is reflected in the performance figures, with the two-seater now accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 16.8 seconds. There is no impact on fuel consumption or CO2 emissions, however, which remain unequalled at 3.3 litres per 100km and 88 grams per km respectively.A few improvements have also been made to the list of options available on this smart fortwo: foldable armrest, multi-media functions and a hands free kit with colour screen amongst others. |
