 This is the second consecutive year that BMW has made off with the title of International Engine of the Year. Out of the 11 prizes awarded by 65 journalists from 32 countries, the Bavarian manufacturer took no less than 6. Amongst the engines to receive awards were the 306 bhp 3.0 litre bi-turbo and the 2.0 litre bi-turbo diesel of the 123d. This won the award in the 'Best New Engine' category. The unit produces 204 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, while consuming just 5.2 litres of diesel per 100 km. And this is even 10% lower when a P-Tronic additional box unit is fitted. |
