  • bmw x1 So this is what the BMW X1 will look like. The concept shown at the Paris World motor Show is expected to be very close to the production model. Deriving from the 1-Series, the family look of the X3 and X6 is unmistakeable, yet the X1 will nevertheless have a superb personality to help it compete with the Ford Kuga, VW Tiguan, Toyota RAV4 and above all the future Audi Q3. In the engine compartment, in the first instance BMW has announced two diesels of four cylinders, a 2.0 d producing 177 bhp and a 204 bhp biturbo. Both of them are already well known to P-Tronic diehards, such is their extra power when fitted with additional box units. There will doubtless be six-cylinder engines later, expanding the range in a second phase. The X1, which will be available in 3-door and 5-door versions, will be on the market from the end of 2009.
