  • bmw 740d The upgrading of the 7-Series from BMW first and foremost involves a new diesel version: the 740d. Under the bonnet is a 6-cylinder in-line turbo producing 360 bhp and 600 Nm, available between 1,500 and 2,500 revs. This gives 0 to 100 km in 6.3 seconds with a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. Where fuel consumption is concerned, BMW has announced an average of 6.9 litres per 100 km and emissions of 181 grams of CO2.
Despite the arrival of the 740d the 730d remains in the range. It is able to be fitted, as an option, with the BluePerformance system which reduces NOx emissions and enables the engine to meet Euro-6 norms. This is a 245 bhp engine which has been subjected to a few improvements, reducing diesel consumption to 6.8 litres per 100 km with 178 grams of CO2 per km.
