Nine of them (Audi, BMW, Fiat, Honda, Mercedes, Opel, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo) have currently met in the context of the Car2Car organisation to broach this theme. Car2Car is counting on a standard communications protocol which would use a Wifi network. By equipping a vehicle with emitting and receiving antenna, it would become communicative over a range of 50 metres. This seems a little small, which is why Car2Car is also envisaging being able to count on hotspots. |
