 The new Audi A8 will be released in March. Under the bonnet will be the 3.0 TDI and 4.2 TDI. The manufacturer has decided to fill this A8 with brand new technologies and security equipment. Where driving assistance is concerned, peripheral radar systems will warn the driver when a vehicle is getting ready to overtake or is approaching rapidly. A night vision camera will warn of the presence of pedestrians or animals in the car's path. A white line crossing warning system and speed limit sign detector are also on the programme. The Pre Sense system will be offered at 4 levels, the most advanced going as far as to slow the car down if it detects that there is a risk of collision. Other 'gadgets' include a cruise control system capable of stopping and restarting the car (at a stop sign for example), a new 7 inch touch screen MMI system (along with the rotating wheel),GPRS or EDGE (optional) connection, plus digital radios and TV's (optional).
