 The new 1.6 TDI Common Rail will soon be offered on the Audi A3 and A3 Sportback. Two variations have been announced. The first develops 90 bhp with 230 Nm of torque. This will propel the car from standstill to 100 km/h in 12.9 seconds, and then on to a top speed of 180 km/h. Fuel consumption has been announced as 4.5 litres of diesel per 100 km, with 118 grams of CO2 emissions per km. The second version will produce 105 bhp and will be both more powerful and more frugal. Look at this: 11.5 seconds for the 0-100 km/h sprint, top speed of 194 km/h, consumption of 4.1 litres per 100km and 109 grams of CO2. The better fuel consumption and lower emissions are due to the fact that this more powerful version has a start & stop system as standard and a kinetic electric energy recuperation unit during deceleration.A P-Tronic additional box unit will quickly be on offer for these new Audi A3 models. |
