Speed-Up therefore markets the famous P-Tronic box-units, chips that you place under the hood of your vehicle equipped with a turbo diesel to increase its performance by 25% on average. "In 30 seconds, the time it takes to install it, a P-Tronic tuning box offers more torque, more safety, more engine power while polluting less and consuming less," notes Philippe Heeren, the boss of Speed-Up, adding that what he does is modify the injection timing at the vehicle's engine level.
"We've been in this sector for 15 years now and I believe I can say that we have the most advanced and probably the most reliable products on the market (Editor's note: the company has only one competitor, in Germany)," he says, specifying that he sells his performance chips throughout Europe, via his website.
"Within 24 hours, people receive the box-unit and it takes thirty seconds to install it. It's very simple even for someone who doesn't know anything about it."

Average cost? Count on 600 EUR for a tuning box. Speed-Up sells about 7,500 units per year. As for the legality of the operation (placing a tuning box under your hood), everything is covered. "There's no problem. We perform an electronic modification. What's illegal are mechanical modifications."
At present, the SME is teeming with projects to ensure its development. "The United States is gradually equipping its gas stations with Diesel. By 2010, 40% of the American automotive market will consist of vehicles running on Diesel. So there are tremendous opportunities for us there. We really want to be the first to supply our chips there."
In parallel with this, the company will work on adapting the box-unit for boat and yacht engines.
